Microsoft Lumia 535 receives Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 new OS version 8.10.14234.375 with firmware 15053

Microsoft is rolling out a new firmware update for its budget smartphone, Lumia 535.

The download for the update is available both as Windows Phone 8.1 OS and a firmware patch combination for the Lumia 535.

The OS version noted in the release is 8.10.14234.375 and firmware version number 02060.00000.15053.2400x, reports WindowsCentral.

The update is based on the latest Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 and Lumia Denim firmware. A similar build is available for other Lumia devices including Lumia 930. It is not the Windows Phone 8.1 Update or, GDR 2, which Microsoft recently announced at the Mobile World Congress event.

The update is currently live in a few regions including India, Taiwan and the UK, whereas other countries such as Hong Kong, the Philippines and Singapore are still running the older OS version 14226. But all regions across the globe are likely to get the update soon. Head over to Microsoft Lumia Update page to know about the update status for Lumia 535 in your region.

To check the update availability manually, go to Settings>> Phone Update>> Check for Update. Ensure that your Lumia phone has a stable Wi-Fi connection.

The new firmware is likely to fix the annoying screen sensitivity issue which was still present after Microsoft released a software update in December.
