Miley Cyrus channels Shania Twain in edgy leopard print for sizzling The Voice performance
The singer bid a tearful goodbye to one of her team members.
On Tuesday night's (28 November) episode of The Voice, Miley Cyrus put up a thrilling performance of Shania Twain's classic country hit Man! I Feel Like a Woman along with her protégés Janice Freeman, Brooke Simpson and Ashland Craft.
The Malibu singer was dressed in an edgy animal print romper suit and fishnet tights. Complementing the 25-year old coach's wild look, the girls in Cyrus' team were also seen sporting similar leopard print outfits.
Before the show, Cyrus had posted a teaser photo on Instagram with the caption: "Get ready for the #TeamMiley performance tonight on @nbcthevoice ! #ManIFeelLikeAWoman"
Later as the elimination result was announced and Freeman was voted out, the singer started getting emotional.
Praising the 32-year-old contestant, Cyrus tearfully said: "If anybody deserves to stick around in this competition it is you. You are a fighter, you are a warrior, you are a role model and, more than any of that, you are The Voice, I am in complete shock, I love you so much."
Over the course of the show, the mentor and her protégé had gotten close. "I feel like I've gotten one of my closest friends. I am a shameless supporter of you. I believe in heaven because of people like you," Cyrus said of the cancer survior from Crompton, California.
Freeman, 32 was also in tears as she said: "Miley, you have been the best thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life and I appreciate you. You will have a friend for life and anything that you need from me, I am here, so thank you for what you have given me."
Freeman was placed in the bottom two alongside Adam Cunningham from Team Adam. Before a final public vote, they had to 'sing for survival'.
The 38-year-old Cunningham's rendition of Amazed by Lonestar eventually trumped Freeman's cover of Sia's Chandelier.
Adam Levine also showed his respect for Freeman, saying: "Talent isn't really something that can be judged on a talent competition, it can't really be judged at all."
