Pop icon Miley Cyrus is reportedly having a fling with her ex, Liam Hemsworth's friend, Twilight actor Kellan Lutz.

According to US Weekly, the pair have been hanging out together for some days now. Lutz apparently reached out to Cyrus sometime early in December.

"The next day, they hung out. And they've been hooking up ever since," a source explained, according to the weekly.

The 21-year-old Bangerz singer also invited the 28-year-old actor to an overnight jaunt from Miami to the Bahamas. The couple were "pictured" walking off the same private jet, separately, after returning to Miami from the excursion.

"It doesn't hurt that he's Liam's pal. But they really enjoy each other's company," the source is quoted as saying, adding that Lutz was "nice eye candy" for Cyrus.

Cyrus and Hemsworth met on the sets of the 2010 romantic drama The Last Song and began dating soon after. They announced their split in September this year after three years together.

Cyrus was 19 when she got engaged. However, she still maintains that she cherished that part of her life as well.

"I don't think I realised what 19 truly is, and I got engaged at 19, and I definitely wouldn't change being engaged," Cyrus has been quoted as saying.

"It was so fun wearing a fat rock for a few years. But now, I just feel like I can actually be happy. I wait for those moments of silence, when I'm just at my house, by myself," she told US Weekly.

"I just believe that when a chapter is done, you have to close it and start that new one," Cyrus stated at the Ellen DeGeneres show a month after the couple broke their engagement.

"That's kind of where I am right now. I felt like I have so much to be thankful for at this time that my energy hasn't really been focused on that," she added.
