Miley Cyrus Hospitalisation: Actor Ex-Fiance Liam Hemsworth 'Still Cares' About Singer

Australian actor Liam Hemsworth reportedly reached out to Miley Cyrus when he found out his former fiancee was unwell.

The 21-year-old former Disney star was admitted to hospital after suffering a severe allergic reaction to an anti-biotic prescribed for a sinus infection. Cyrus, who is in the middle of her Bangerz tour, was forced to cancel her St. Louis, Missouri concert, a day after she cancelled her Kansas City concert.

"Liam still cares about Miley," a source told Showbiz Spy. "They didn't work out as a couple, but he still wants to know that she's okay. He was extremely worried when he heard Miley was hospitalized, so he got in touch to find out how she is."

Hemsworth and Cyrus met on the set of Nicholas Sparks film The Last Song, in 2009. In 2012, Hemsworth proposed to Cyrus with a 3.5-carat Neil Lane diamond ring.

The couple made their last public appearance together at the premiere of his film Paranoia at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles, before Hemsworth officially announced his split from the Wrecking Ball singer.

Cyrus previously told Love Magazine that she is still in contact with Hemsworth.

"We still talk and communicate. I was with him since I was 16 and nothing's ever going to make that go away. I've known this guy all that time and if it doesn't work out I can still smile and love him and he can love me and that's great, that's the way to be. Life is too short," she said.

Meanwhile, an insider revealed that Cyrus is doing "everything she can to get better" and is planning to be released from the hospital in time for her 21 April show.

"Miley is going mental with boredom right now, all she wants to do is get on with her tour so she's doing everything she can to get better," a friend said. "She's told everyone she will be better for her show on Monday. Her team isn't so sure but they're holding out until the last minute possible before they cancel."

"Everyone on her team is bummed that this happened but they're all saying there's a silver lining to this because it's forcing Miley to take a break from partying, she's really detoxing. Her body needed a break and it's getting one," the source added.
