Moto X Play: Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update starts rolling out to users in Canada and India
Motorola has started seeding the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its Moto X Play devices for users in Canada and India. This is an upgrade from the Android 6.0 Marshmallow version, which the device already received in December 2015.
The download is only about 388MB in size, as this is an upgrade within the Marshmallow OS. This also means that changes with the upgrade will be limited to just some minor tweaks and the latest March Android security patch.
From Google one major visible change includes the latest emoji pack. Apart from that, Motorola has made some tweaks of its own like the main camera app can now be launched by double pressing the power button. The sound of the camera shutter has also been changed along with some miscellaneous stability improvements to keep the handset running smoothly.
Motorola has already rolled out the Marshmallow update for its Moto G (Gen 3), Moto G Turbo Edition, Moto E (Gen 2), Moto X Style and Moto X (Gen 2) among others. There is no clarity on whether some older models like the Moto E (1st Gen) and Moto G (1st Gen) would even receive Marshmallow or not.
