Qualifying review
Marquez continued Team Honda's dominance of the Sachsenring circuit, clocking 1:22.160s to secure pole position during qualifying for the German Grand Prix. He finished ahead of Avintia Ducati's Hector Barbera who came in second, a result which was unexpected given his form in the free practice sessions over the past two days.
Italian rider Rossi clocked 1:22.666s to secure the third place on the grid. Rossi last won the German Grand Prix in 2009, which was the last time the event was won by a non-Honda rider. The 'Doctor' as he is known in racing circles will be looking to spring a surprise and push Marquez as he did recently in Barcelona.
