Motorola Droid Turbo Launched: 'Turbo Charger' Claimed to Give 8-Hour Battery Life in 15-Minute Charge
Motorola's highly anticipated high-ender, the Droid Turbo, has been officially launched in the United States by wireless carrier Verizon, and the device will be available for purchase starting 30 October.
The latest launch by Verizon adds substance to our earlier report which stated that the Droid Turbo would be available as a Verizon-exclusive initially.
The primary reason for the heightened anticipation for Motorola's Droid Turbo is the fact that the smartphone is being touted as Motorola's answer to Samsung's recently launched large-screen flagship, Galaxy Note 4.
Also, the Droid Turbo ships with the Motorola Turbo Charger that claims to give the smartphone an 8-hour battery life on just a 15-minute one-time charge.
The 'Turbo Charge' functionality in Motorola' Droid Turbo is expected to serve as a boon to business users who are constantly on the move.
Normally, those who use smartphones for official work need to ensure that the battery life of their devices is at an optimum level at all times. Also, it becomes imperative for business users to plug in their devices for charging more frequently. In such a scenario, the Motorola Turbo charger that ships with the next-generation Motorola Droid should come in handy.
If you are looking to purchase the next-gen Droid Turbo, then head straight to Verizon which will offer the high-end smartphone at $24.99 (£15) a month for a period of 24 months for customers who qualify the conditions. This offer comes into effect on 30 October.
If you like to purchase the device from Verizon, you need not pay down payment and can start off by paying the 24-month EMIs as mentioned above.
The cost of an unlocked Motorola Droid Turbo is $600.
Verizon will offer the smartphone at $199 (£123) for 32 GB variant, and at $250 for the 64 GB variant, according to a Forbes report.
Motorola Droid Turbo should easily challenge various recently released high-end smartphones.
