'I would say it's multi-dimensional and extremely layered,' said Rami Malek of season 2 plot.
The official synopsis and title for Mr Robot's two-hour season 2 premiere episode has been released. The two-part episode is titled, Eps2.0_Unm4sk-Pt1.Tc and Eps2.0_Unm4sk-Pt2.Tc, which will air on 13 July at 10pm EST on USA Network.
Here is the official synopsis for the premiere chapter:
The Season 2 premiere finds Elliot in seclusion; Angela happy at E Corp; and fsociety delivering a malicious payload.
The second season of the hacker drama will delve into the war between fsociety and E-Corp, after the dramatic season 1 finale, wherein the gang hacked into the multi-national company and made everyone debt free.
Actors Christian Slater and Rami Malek teased a lot of twists and turns in season 2, in an interview with Collider.
Malek, who plays hacker Elliot Alderson, said that the upcoming season will feature the evolution of the show's characters. "I would say it's multi-dimensional and extremely layered. I think the best thing to say is that it is in your face. Nothing we do is salacious or provocative or shocking for the sake of that. Everything that is a surprise or a moment is just an evolution of who these characters are and where the story is going."
Christian Slater who plays the mysterious Mr Robot said, "I have a word, but I don't want to say it. I won't say it. Sam [executive producer Sam Esmail] would kill me. Maybe we'll meet again, after Season 2, and I'll tell you the word. It's like playing a long game of poker. You've really gotta hold your cards close. That's how it was on season 1, too.
"As people started to get more involved and notice what was going on with the show, sometimes [they] would get aggressive about wanting information and there was nothing I could do. It's definitely not a multi-tasking show. I said that about season 1, and I think I can safely say that about season 2. But, that's not the word," he added.
