'Mr Scissorhands' Sentenced for Stalking Young Women
Darren Dixon, aka "Mr Scissorhands" from Mancester, has been sentenced on two counts of assault causing bodily harm, after stalking two young women and cutting their hair.
Dixon appeared before the Manchester Crown Court last February and the case was adjourned till 2 April, for the preparation of psychiatric reports.
The 44-year old man followed and stalked Jessica Wright, 19, a university student from Manchester on 26 September. He began trailing Jessica as she was walking to her lectures and followed her for around 20 minutes.
"I was really freaked out and very upset by it all. I don't really go anywhere on my own any more. It was all just horrible and he cut off quite a big chunk of hair. There were bits missing from other parts of my hair as well," Wright was quoted as saying in a Daily Mail report.
Exactly a month later, Dixon, in a similar fashion, followed and stalked another young woman outside a retail store.
Police were able to capture Dixon with the help of CCTV footage.
