MTV EMAs 2014: Nicki Minaj Confirmed as Host
Rapper Nicki Minaj has marked another career milestone after being confirmed as the host of this year's MTV Europe Music Awards.
The 31-year-old star landed the gig just days after scoring her first No. 1 in the UK for "Bang Bang", her collaborative track with Jessie J and Ariana Grande.
Not only will she make her hosting debut at the annual ceremony, Minaj is also expected to take to the stage to perform. She is also up for four awards in the best female, hip-hop, biggest fans and best look categories.
Taking to social media to celebrate, she told her 18 million followers: "I will not only perform, but I have the honorable task of HOSTING this year's #MTVEMA!!!!!!! AAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!,"
Meanwhile, Katy Perry leads this year's MTV Europe Music Awards with an impressive seven nominations including the coveted best video and best song awards.
She will go head-to-head with Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj and Taylor Swift in the best female category and she has also been nominated for the best look award.
The MTV EMAs will be held at the Hydro in Glasgow on 9 November. Fans can vote for their favourite artist at mtvema.com.
