Britney Spears to perform at the event, Rihanna will receive the Vanguard Award.
The MTV Video Music Awards 2016 will be held at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan on 28 August at 9 pm ET/PT. The who's who of the music industry are expected to attend the glittering evening that is famous for creating new controversies.
Where to Watch: The mega event will be broadcast live on MTV staring at 6:15 pm ET/PT. Fans can click on the events' official website to watch the show live stream online. The show will also be streamed live on MTV's Facebook page.
The award show made headlines in 2015 for Miley Cyrus's hosting and her on-stage beef with rapper Nicki Minaj. But this year, MTV VMA is going the no host way. Instead of having one single host, the event will bring personalities like Key and Peele to host the red carpet. They'll be joined by comedians Jay Pharoah and Nicole Byer on the main stage. DJ Khaled will host the pre-show and report live from MSG's skybox.
This year, Rihanna will receive the coveted Vanguard Award and music icon Britney Spears will enthrall fans with her return after 10 years. She will perform her latest music number Make Me.
After winning the 2015 Vanguard awards, Kanye West is all set to attend this year's event along with wife Kim Kardashian, who will present an award during the show. The American rapper has been given four minutes on stage and speculations are on that he might use those minutes to call it truce with Taylor Swift.
Apart from Kardashian, many other Hollywood personalities will present the iconic Moonman statues to winning music videos during star-studded. They are: Naomi Campbell, Hailee Steinfeld, Jimmy Fallon, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Kim Kardashian West, Alicia Keys, Ansel Elgort, Fifth Harmony, Jaden Smith, Tove Lo, Rita Ora, Shameik Moore, and Bebe Rexha
