Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Lions, IPL 2016: How to watch live on TV, mobile and online in the UK and abroad
Mumbai welcome high flying Gujarat Lions to the Wankhede Stadium for the ninth match of the IPL 2016 season as they look to continue their momentum after recording their first win of the campaign against the Kolkata Knight Riders on Wednesday (13 April).
Rohit Sharma's team are yet to record a win at home after losing their first home game against the other newcomers Pune Supergiants. Their bowling does lack a bit of bite without Lasith Malinga, who has been ruled out due to injury, but Mitchell McClenaghan has stepped up to put in some impressive performances. On the batting front Rohit Sharma continued his love affair with Eden Gardens to get back into form with a 54-ball 84.
The Lions, on the other hand, are the form team of the tournament as they are the only team to have played two games and won them both. The new entrant to the IPL have one of the most balanced teams in the tournament with match winners in both the bowling and batting department.
Their previous game saw them record a forceful win over the Supergiants with their top four batsmen coming to the fore with Aaron Finch and Brendan McCullum leading the way. It will be a battle between the two batting departments when the Indians and Lions face-off on a pitch that could produce a high scoring game.
