Music Minute: Little Mix enjoy Glory Days, Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball heads to London's O2 Arena

In this week's Music Minute, Little Mix score their first number one album, the BBC Sound Of 2017 list is revealed and Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball returns for another year.
Little Mix at number one
Congratulations are in order for Little Mix who have claimed their first ever number one album on the UK charts with Glory Days. The Shout Out To My Ex singers sold over 96,000 copies of their latest record making it the fastest-selling number one album from a girl group in 15 years since Destiny's Child topped the charts with Survivor in 2001.
Little Mix said of their achievement: "We say it all the time but we really do have the BEST fans in the world & we love you to the moon and back! LET THE #GLORYDAYS ROLL."
BBC Sound Of 2017
The BBC has revealed its Sound Of 2017 list and it is a hip hop affair with the likes of Nadia Rose, Anderson Paak, AJ Tracey and Rag N Bone Man among the urban artists featured in the longlist. Other acts nominated include post-punk group Cabbage, singer-songwriter Declan McKenna, rockers The Amazon and pop singer The Japanese House. Winners in recent years include Jack Garratt, Years & Years, Sam Smith and Haim. The shortlisted acts will be announced in January.
Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball
Some of pop's finest will be heading down to London's O2 Arena this weekend for two days of great music at Capital's Jingle Bell Ball. Taking place on 3 and 4 December, Little Mix, Calvin Harris and Craig David are among Saturday's performers while Shawn Mendes, Ellie Goulding and DNCE are set for Sunday.
