Music Minute: X Factor winner Louisa Johnson debuts So Good, James Arthur is Back From The Edge
IBTimes UK senior entertainment reporter Alicia Adejobi rounds up this week's music stories.
In this week's Music Minute, X Factor winner Louisa Johnson announces her new single So Good, James Arthur is set to release his new album Back From The Edge and Little Mix top the charts with Shout Out To My Ex.
Louisa Johnson new single
X Factor winner Louisa Johnson will release her brand new solo single on 28 October. So Good, described as a "cinematic and dramatic instant pop classic", was co-written by Ed Drewett who has penned hits for the likes of One Direction and Little Mix.
At the age of 17, Johnson became the youngest X Factor winner in 2015 and will return to the ITV series this weekend to perform So Good live for the first time.
Her single Forever Young reached number nine while Tears, her collaboration with Clean Bandit, peaked at number five.
James Arthur comeback
Another X Factor alumnus is set to release new music this week; James Arthur's second album Back From The Edge expected this Friday. The record will feature James' latest single Say You Won't Let Go, which spent an incredible three weeks at number one on the UK chart. Can James hit the top spot again?
Little Mix shout out
Lastly, if you need to update your playlist then check out Little Mix's new single Shout Out To My Ex. The break-up track was reportedly written about Perrie Edwards' highly publicised split from Zayn Malik and has just claimed its first week at number one in the UK. Lyrics include: "Forget that boy, I'm over it/I hope she gettin' better sex/Hope she ain't fakin' it like I did, babe."
Shout Out To My Ex will appear on Little Mix's upcoming fourth album Glory Days, which is set for release on 18 November. The LP will be supported by the group's next tour, which kicks off in October 2017. Little Mix are clearly having the last laugh.
