Mysterious 'Alien Base' Discovered on Moon: Real or Photography Trick? [VIDEO]

A mysterious object bearing strong resemblance to a triangular space ship has been spotted on the moon's surface by Google Moon Viewer. Reports suggest that the 'huge anomaly' having rows of light-like dots might be an alien base holding a UFO.

According to Tech and Gadget News, the object is much larger than any airplane ever built on Earth and the closest comparison to its design can be super secret Stealth aircraft technology.

The two-sided, triangular feature on the lunar surface was uncovered by paranormal researcher WowForReeel and posted in a video saying:

"What IS that??? No idea how to title this one really so went with first thing that comes to mind. After going there on Google Moon and staring at this thing for quite a long time I can say yes, it is really there, not faked and I have no clue what it is. I found nothing else like it in any of the other craters. Not much to be said other than .. it's there, take a look and tell us what you think it is."

Reportedly, this is the first time such an object has been discovered on the Moon or any other planet observed by satellite or exploratory rover, as per Tech and Gadget News.

The report also questions if "this highly irregular feature of the moonscape is proven to be engineered by intelligent minds, is it possible it could be some kind of secret area built by humans?"

It can be found on the Google Moon viewer at coordinates 22042'38.46N and 142034'44.52E.

This said, a YouTube user (Slick Van Tanoid) who commented on the video passed it off as a technical side effect. Here's what he said:

"This so-called 'spaceship' image is purely an artifact of the compression method (a.k.a. Discrete Cosine transform, or DCT) used to encode the pictures."

According to the user, the original images of the moon are only at a particular resolution. However, if one keeps zooming in to the same image, the image is expanded through interpolation (hence, it gets blurry and blocky).

"What you are seeing, is how the picture of the moon is encoded, using extreme zoom," the user states.

According to a Daily Mail, 'excited reports' about alien life and UFOs have emerged a countless number of times aiming to answer the universal question of whether Earth is the solitary planet containing life.

In November, paranormal researchers found what they believed to be evidence of a fossilised iguana on the surface of Mars. The mysterious object was spotted by UFO Sightings Daily who uncovered the photograph in Nasa's archives.
