It is safe to say that the last 12 months have been memorable for the rich and famous.

Some got hitched, some got ditched, some had babies, some had Twitter beefs. Some got arrested and sadly many passed away.

But before we step into the New Year, let's take a look back...

George Clooney's Italian wedding

In September, the Hollywood actor broke the hearts of millions of women when he married human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin.

The couple said 'I do' in Venice in a lavish ceremony attended by over 100 guests, including Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford Bono and Anna Wintor.

The wedding of the year was a four-day marathon which included five-star hotel rooms, water taxis, poolside parties, designer dresses, and a wedding reception on the Grand Canal.

Jay Z and Solange showdown

Back in may the world was shocked when CCTV lift footage of Solange kicking and punching rapper at the Standard Hotel was leaked by TMZ.

Not only did the family drama make headlines across the globe, fans were left wondering why Beyoncé didn't intervene.

The fallout also provoked speculation that Beyoncé and Jay Z's marriage was ion the rocks.

Tragic death of Robin Williams

The Oscar-winning funnyman was found dead at his San Francisco home in august after commuting suicide.

The actor, who was battling with depression, anxiety and the early stages of Parkinson's disease when he died, his widow Susan Schneider said.

Williams' film credits include Good Will Hunting, Mrs Doubtfire, and Dead Poets society.

Nude celebrity hacking scandal

Jennifer Lawrence was amongst a long list of female celebrities including Kate Upton, Victoria Justice, Kim Kardashian and Arianna Grande, who had revealing images stolen from their iCloud after there were hacked.

Scores of the images actress in various stages of undress first appeared on the online message board 4chan and quickly spread like wildfire thanks to social media.

Turns out it wasn't the security on Apple's iCloud network to blame, it was the weak passwords the celebs were using.

Kim Kardashian attempts to break the internet

At number one is the reality queen's Paper magazine shoot.

Kanye's wife stripped down and got oiled up to show of her assets in all their voluptuous glory.
