Nelson Mandela treated for lung infection
The former South African President and Nobel Peace prize winner Nelson Mandela, has spent his fourth day in hospital, where he is undergoing treatment for a suspected lung infection according to President Jacob Zuma's office.94 year old Mr Mandela was rushed to hospital in Pretoria on Saturday from his home in the Eastern Cape Province by the military, which is responsible for his healthcare.
No immediate details were issued regarding his illness, sparking concern over the increasingly frail human right activist. However a government spokesman said Mr Mandela is responding to treatment.
But this is Mr Mandela's second hospitalisation for a lung infection, so the world's eyes will be closely watching this man known as the modern day 'father of Africa'.
