Netflix Nabs 'A Time Lost' by 'Stranger Things' star Millie Bobby Brown
Netflix is working with Millie Bobby Brown and her sister Paige Brown in bringing their story, "A Time Lost," to life in a feature film.
Netflix is working on a new project with "Stranger Things" star Millie Bobby Brown and her sister, Paige Brown. The streaming service announced the collaboration on Thursday.
The feature film is called "A Time Lost," an original piece written by the sisters themselves. The story revolves around two Long Island families whose "feud comes to a head when one of their teenage daughters is diagnosed with cancer."
Details about the movie adaptation remain are scant but according to reports, Anna Klassen will pen the script. The writer has also confirmed this on her Twitter page. 15-year-old Millie will produce the film through PCMA Productions and Paige will executive produce along with their father, Robert Brown.
The sisters call their joint work a "labor of love" and they expressed their gratitude for Netflix in adapting their hard work into a film.
"We are so grateful to Netflix for their confidence in us and this beautiful story, which we have spent years writing and developing. It's about friendship, family and overcoming obstacles when it feels like the world is pushing you down," Millie and Paige said in a joint statement.
Meanwhile, Lisa Nishimura, Netflix VP Independent Film and Documentary Features, only had nice words to say about the English actress. In a statement, she called Millie "an extraordinary creative talent" and said that the network is more than happy to work with the sister on their story.
"We've been lucky to have her in our family from the beginning of her career. It is a genuine thrill to witness Millie bring her distinct vision to the screen, now as a writer and producer, alongside her sister on this wonderful film," Nishimura said in a statement.
Millie is best known for her portrayal of Eleven, a girl with telekinetic powers, in the Netflix series "Stranger Things." The show recently concluded Season 3 and the streaming giant has yet to announce a renewal.
The Emmy-nominated actress also appeared in the blockbuster movie "Godzilla: King of Monsters."Millie's stellar performance in "Stranger Things" earned her numerous film offers. She is slated to appear in other full-length films including "Enola Holmes" and "Godzilla vs. Kong."
