Overview

The ODI series against the world champions is Brendon McCullum's last in limited overs before he ends his playing career with New Zealand after the end of the Test series against Australia.

The Black Caps won the opening match comfortably, before allowing Steven Smith's side to make a comeback in the second match. The third and final ODI will be the series decider and it is going to be exciting to watch the 2015 ICC World Cup finalists in action.

In the second ODI, New Zealand posted 281 for the loss of nine wickets in their 50 overs. The hosts were hoping their bowling attack would be able to replicate the form of the first ODI in the second match.

However, the Kiwis bowlers were unable to restrict the Australian openers as a 122-run partnership between Usman Khawaja and David Warner, before the latter fell two runs short of his century, laid the platform for the World Champions to seal a victory. The visitors won by four wickets with three overs to spare.
