Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2016: Nominees, performers, what time is it on and all you need to know

The Oscars may be already a distant memory but that doesn't mean awards season is over. This weekend, some of the biggest names in music, television, social media, movies and sports will walk The Forum's orange carpet for Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. The annual ceremony – known for being the only place children can shower celebrities with green slime – is bound to be a barrel of laughs, but in case you were not familiar, here's all you need to know...

When are the Kids Choice Awards?

The 29th Annual Kids' Choice Awards be held on 12 March at The Forum in Inglewood, California.

What time should I tune in?

All the action kicks off at 8pm EST. The show will air on Wednesday 16 March, Nickelodeon (DStv channel 305)

Any new categories are up for grabs?

Children can cast their votes in 21 categories including new additions like favourite cooking show, favourite collaboration, favourite male TV Star – kids' show, favourite male TV star – family show, favourite female TV star – kids' show and favourite Female TV Star – Family Show.
