Nina Dobrev and Austin Stowell dating: Ian Somerhalder's reaction to couple's relationship revealed

American actor/model Ian Somerhalder is reportedly excited about former girlfriend and The Vampire Diaries co-star Nina Dobrev's budding romance with actor Austin Stowell.

It was previously reported that Dobrev is happy for the 36-year-old actor, well known for playing Damon Salvatore in The CW's supernatural drama, who tied the knot with Twilight star Nikki Reed.

"Ian found the love of his life. He has dealt with his emotions for Nina — they are friendly and nothing more. And now, they really don't talk since she is away from the show. He's moved on, so the emotion is not that deep, he is all in for Nikki and Nikki only," a source told Hollywood Life.

"Ian actually knew about Nina's new relationship, but he never really brought it up while on set. He respected that she didn't want to hear about Nikki and she respected he didn't want to hear about Austin. One less thing to worry about. Ian is all about Nikki, his causes, the show and a handful of metaphysical stuff that goes through his mind. He just wants Nina to be happy, and if she is happy with Austin that is good enough for him," the insider added.

Dobrev and Somerhalder dated for more than three years, before splitting in May 2013.

Following their break-up, Somerhalder moved on with Reed. The two were first romantically linked last year in July after they were spotted shopping at the Farmer's Market in Los Angeles.

Later, Somerhalder confirmed their relationship on Instagram when he lashed out at a few of his fans for bashing Reed.
