Nintendo to re-release NES console with 30 built-in games this November
Games include Super Mario Bros, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mega Man 2 and more
Nintendo has announced that it is re-releasing the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) this November in a smaller form with 30 games built-in. It will be released on 11 November and cost $60 (£45) in the US, with no official pricing for the UK yet.
"Relive the 80s when the Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System launches in stores on 11 November," reads the official website.
"The classic NES is back in a familiar-yet-new form as a mini replica of Nintendo's original home console. Plugging directly into a high-definition TV using the included HDMI cable.
"The Nintendo Classic Mini: Nintendo Entertainment System comes packaged with an HDMI cable, a USB cable for powering the system, and one Nintendo Classic Mini: NES Controller.
"And whether it's rediscovering an old favourite or experiencing the joy of NES for the first time, the fantastic collection of NES classics included with each and every system should have something for all players."
The 30 games that will be on the system include the original Super Mario Bros trilogy, Metroid, Mega Man 2, Gradius, and Donkey Kong. A full list is included below.
A Wii Pro Controller can also be used with the new console, as can original NES controllers. The mini-controller can also be plugged into a Wii controller for use with NES games players might own on the Wii or Wii U's virtual console.
The device does not include an AC adaptor for the USB device that powers it.
