Norman Reedus on Walking Dead season 7 premiere: 'The group is completely broken'
'Negan has come in and completely shaken up everything', says actor.
Norman Reedus has divulged a few details about the deadly Negan scene from the premiere episode Walking Dead season 7. The actor, who plays Daryl Dixon in the post-apocalyptic series, has teased that the team from the Alexandria safe zone will be completely broken after the bloody night.
"It affects the group completely differently. You know, everyone, it affects them differently. Some relinquish power. Some accept it. Some fight it. There are people questioning it. There are people pointing their fingers. There are people blaming themselves. Other things happen that completely destroy people. The group is completely broken apart at this point," he told Entertainment Weekly.
The cruel world of the zombie-infected world has somewhat consumed Rick Grimes, whose abrupt way of handling crisis situations has brought his team to the brink of death on multiple occasions.
But there is no escape from the Savior leader after Rick killed his men in season 6. Negan has unleashed his wrath and there is no way out.
"Negan has come in and completely shaken up everything. Loyalties are broken, belief in one another, belief in ourselves. Each individual is completely broken, and they don't all handle it the exact same way," he added.
The 47-year-old American actor has also shared details about the infamous death scene and termed the premiere's filming "exhausting".
"It was exhausting, and it was no fun. You know, we always come back to this show every season, and we're like, 'Yeah, let's get back into it!' You know, all the actors are excited to be here and see each other and get back into where they were. But this was one of those where it's like, 'Oh, f**k. Here we go.' It was definitely not a joyous reunion. I mean, it was nice to see everybody again, of course, but it wasn't the same as in previous years."
The Walking Dead season 7 will premiere in the US on 23 October at 9pm on AMC.
