Overview

World Number one Novak Djokovic will look to win a second consecutive Indian Wells Masters title as he takes on France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the quarter-finals on 18 March. The defending champion seems to be in top form, after he took only 65 minutes to cruise past Feliciano Lopez in the fourth round, beating the Spaniard 6-2, 6-3.

The Serbian has an excellent record against Tsonga, winning 10 of the last 11 matches played between the two. He would be looking to maintain that record and progress to the semi-final, where he might just face Rafael Nadal, if the Spaniard wins his quarter final tie against Kei Nishikori.

The World Number nine, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has had a poor start in 2016 and lost in the semi-final of the Auckland Open and the round of 16 in the Australian Open. However, he has looked good at the BNP Paribas Open so far, striking 12 aces and taking just 67 minutes to beat Dominic Thiem 6-3, 6-2 in the fourth round.

Tsonga last beat Djokovic in 2014 in the final of the Canadian Open and he will need to play some exceptional tennis if he hopes to end his losing streak against the reigning BNP Paribas Open Champion.
