One Direction reunion: Harry Styles speaks 'fondly' of band to Dunkirk crew dropping positive hints
After Styles signed a solo contract with Columbia Records, fans speculated the end of 1D.
One Direction fans may finally have something positive to look forward to as a gossip website report claims Harry Styles dropped hints about the boy band's reunion. The British crooner, who has been busy filming for Christopher Nolan's WWII drama Dunkirk, was quoted speaking "fondly" about the members of his band to his crew. Perhaps all the good words might even push for a reunion of the boys?
"Occasionally people ask him about his singing and every time One Direction was brought up he talked about the guys very fondly," a source told Hollywood Life reigniting rumours of a One Direction reunion.
While the report does not clearly mention if Styles would be joining the rest of the members — Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan and Liam Payne — any time soon, it does tease a 1D get-together in the future.
However, at the moment the singers of One Direction are proceeding with their individual careers. After the English-Irish pop band began their hiatus during Christmas 2015, fans have been worried about the future of 1D, more so after 22-year-old Styles went on to sign a solo contract with Columbia Records.
Soon, Payne too followed in Styles's footsteps as he signed up for a solo contract with Capitol Records. Reports suggested that while Horan and Tomlinson haven't committed to anything, the chances of 1D getting back together seemed bleak until now. Simon Cowell, the mastermind behind the popular British band, put the final nail in the reunion possibilities during an interview with Variety earlier.
He said it is unlikely fans of the four-part band will see the boys performing "as a group for a while now."
Despite the disappointing rumours in the past, Styles's latest comments come as good news for One Direction fans. Do you think they will perform together any time soon? Tell us in the comments section below.
