OnePlus One users in India will receive CyanogenMod CM12 OS update via OTA, hints Carl Pei
After Cyanogen confirmed the rollout of its most expected CyanogenMod 12 (CM12) OS to users of OnePlus One smartphones, OnePlus' co-founder Carl Pei has stated that the OS update will indeed be available via over-the-air (OTA).
However, Carl Pei has hinted, via Twitter that the CM12 will roll out to OnePlus One users in India, initially.
Apart from OnePlus One users in India, those in the US can also check their devices for Cyanogen's CM12 OTA update, as the firmware will shortly be made live in the US as well, as per an Android Authority report.
What other devices are eligible for Cyanogen's CM12:
According to Cyanogen, users of the following smartphones are eligible to receive/install and run CM12 OS:
- Micromax YU Yureka: The Cyanogen's confirmation about the YU Yureka being eligible to receive CM12 update adds meat to Micromax's earlier teaser that hinted at an imminent CM12 release.
- Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+: Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ is a recent release, and will run Cyanogen OS 11 (CM11) before being updated to the latest CM12 OS during May/June this year.
Along with the above, Cyanogen has also stated that it would study the recent Android 5.1 (Lollipop) OS update, comprehend the changes incorporated within the latest version and then release these modifications as part of a future update.
