Online Media Awards: IBTimes UK Shortlisted for Six Prestigious Journalism Prizes
International Business Times UK has been shortlisted for six accolades at the Online Media Awards, which will take place in London tonight.
Since its launch in 2011, IBTimes UK has grown its readership to more than 12 million uniques a month, with a rich mix of business, geo-political, tech and sport stories. The website was also re-launched earlier this year following an extensive redesign.
Julian Kossoff, managing editor of the website, is up for Online Editor of the Year, while technology editor David Gilbert has been nominated for Digital Writer of the Year, after picking up the award at last year's event.
Business editor Lianna Brinded has been shortlisted for the Best Commentary/Blogging award and business reporter Ian Silvera is up for the Best Brand Development.
The website has also been nominated for Best National/World News Site and Best Site for News-Led Journalism.
IBTimes UK has been shortlisted alongside many top news sites, including BBC News Online, The Wall Street Journal, Sky News and The Guardian for theguardian.com.
Kossoff said: "International Business Times UK believes in getting in front of and beyond the established media's news agenda. We aim to offer our readers something fresh and engaging every day because great stories will be rewarded with big audiences. We are channelling the zeitgeist."
