OxygenOS 3.5.1 community build starts seeding to OnePlus 3 users
Android Pay does not work on the handset despite this update.
OnePlus has released the OxygenOS 3.5.1 community build for the OnePlus 3 a little over a week after seeding the OxygenOS 3.5 build. Community builds for OnePlus devices are similar to Android developer versions of iOS beta versions.
OnePlus introduced the community build system for its devices to get feedback from its users and implement any required changes in their final builds. Apart from the improvements already seen in the previous builds, here are the major changes listed by the company on its forum:
- Accent colour added
- Battery icon customisation added
- LED customisation added
- Display sRGB mode added
- Night mode added
- Dark mode theme optimised
- General bug fixes and improvements
Android Pay seems to be unusable still but the dark mode has managed to receive positive reviews from users who downloaded the update. Some users, however, warn OnePlus 3 users not to flash this ROM without wiping as you may lose your home screen setup. In addition, some audio issues from the previous build have also been fixed.
If you are already running the community build of OxygenOS 3.5, you will receive an OTA to the current build very soon. In case you are not yet running the first community build, you can flash 3.5.1 via this link. Post the update, once you have started using the community build, you will automatically get the updates as they keep coming from OnePlus without having to manually flash again.
