Pakistan Supreme Court orders arrest of Prime Minister
The Pakistan Supreme Court has ordered the arrest of prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf seen here at his investiture last year. Ashraf has been called 'Raja Rental 'over corruption claims that he accepted bribes when approving power generation projects as minister for water and power in 2010. A claim which he denies.
And this latest announcement follows the thousands strong protest march led by the populist cleric Tahirul Qadri who demanded the resignation of the government and to prevent corruption in future elections.
However there is widespread concern over the rise of this previously unknown cleric, with many saying he has popped up at a convenient political time and questions have been raised who is behind him and what his motivations are?
