Pangu's iOS 9 untethered jailbreak gets compatibility update with Cydia Substrate build 0.9.6000
Jay Freeman aka Saurik (the founder of Cydia) has just released the latest update for Cydia Substrate with build 0.9.6000, which comes close on the heels of iOS 9 jailbreak release from Pangu. The update brings a host of tweaks to the existing Cydia Substrate to make it compatible with the newly released iOS 9 jailbreak.
Saurik was aware of the imminent iOS 9 jailbreak release and hence could release the new update for Cydia Substrate at such short notice, reports iDownloadBlog.
Avid jailbreakers are in for some great news, as the Cydia Substrate supports all those jailbreak tweaks which are compatible with iOS 9. In other words, there is no need for the user to wait for patches or further updates from developers, who have already released iOS 9 compatible Cydia tweaks.
Saurik's release notes for Cydia Substrate 0.9.6000 states:
Cydia Substrate 0.9.6000 has made massive internal changes to be compatible with the latest jailbreak for iOS 9 from Pangu.
Prospective iOS 9 jailbreakers are advised to hold off the temptation to install any of the latest Cydia tweaks for some time, as the existing tweaks are not fully compatible with the newly released jailbreak from Pangu.
The unexpected release of iOS 9 jailbreak has caught many iOS developers off guard as they have not yet updated their Cydia tweaks and apps to fully support the new jailbreak. Besides, Saurik is yet to enable Cydia purchases for iOS 9. Consequently, it would be a wise decision to wait for the developers to roll out all the key patches or updates for their apps to fix some inevitable bugs that often creep up with the release of any new iOS jailbreak.
Interested users who have already jailbroken their iOS device on iOS 9 may download the new compatibility update for Cydia Substrate by going to the Updates tab in Cydia.
