Patrick Dempsey's wife Jillian Fink files for divorce: With no prenup, Grey's Anatomy actor could lose millions

Grey's Anatomy actor Patrick Dempsey is separating from his wife, makeup artist Jillian Fink, after 15 years of marriage.

"It is with careful consideration and mutual respect that we have decided to end our marriage. Our primary concern remains the well-being of our children, and we ask with profound gratitude that you respect our family's privacy at this very sensitive time," the couple told People in a statement.

According to TMZ, the 49-year-old actor's wife filed for divorce citing irreconcilable difference, and is asking for joint custody of their three children, 12-year-old daughter Tallulah Fyfe and seven-year-old twin boys Sullivan Patrick and Darby Galen. She has also demanded for spousal and child support.

Dempsey is reportedly worth around $40m (£26.6m) and the couple reportedly did not have a prenuptial agreement.

"It remains to be seen whether it will be amicable," a source said.

Without a prenuptial agreement, California law states Fink is entitled to half of everything Dempsey earned during their marriage.

According to Radar Online, Fink asked the court to deny him any support from her. She also allegedly "requested to keep her jewellery, as well as her earnings from and after the date of their separation."

She also reportedly stated that "additional separate property assets" will be determined in the divorce proceedings.

Dempsey was previously married to Rocky Parker, 27 years his senior, from 1987 to 1994.
