Perrie Edwards feels Zayn Malik 'handled their break-up terribly'

Perrie Edwards feels Zayn Malik did not handle their break-up very well. The former One Direction star had recently called off his engagement with the Little Mix singer.

It was previously reported that Malik ended his relationship with Edwards by a text message. Adding on, she was upset that the 22-year-old singer got into a Twitter war with Scottish singer/DJ Calvin Harris over her friend, American singer/songwriter Taylor Swift.

"Zayn has still been messaging Perrie since the split, but last week she decided enough was enough. She feels he's handled their break-up terribly," a source told Closer magazine. "She couldn't believe it when he took a swipe at Little Mix on Twitter and was really embarrassed by his row with Calvin. Perrie loves Taylor and was so honoured to perform on stage with her [during Taylor's 1989 tour]."

Malik and Edwards started dating in December 2011 after meeting on the set of The X Factor. The couple who got engaged in August 2013, were reportedly planning to get married at Disneyland Paris in June.

"The girls think Perrie deserves a nice bloke after everything she's been through, but it would also be the ultimate revenge after the way Zayn treated her," the insider added. "Perrie's maintained a dignified silence over the split, but she'll have the last laugh, that's for sure."

After five years with the group, Malik announced he is quitting the British boy band in March. One Direction fans had blamed Edwards for Malik's decision to quit the boy band. Meanwhile, in an interview with E!, Edwards was asked how she is doing after the split, to which she replied: "I'm good, thank you."
