Coronation Street spoilers: See how Kylie Platt dies in tear-jerking pictures
Warning: this article contains spoilers for tonight's (15 July) Corrie episode.
Kylie Platt's final moments on ITV's Coronation Street have finally been revealed as she spends her last dramatic moments dying in the arms of her husband.
The Corrie favourite, played by Paula Lane, breathes her last breath while being cradled by David, but the details of her death are being kept strictly under wraps by ITV bosses.
Friday night's (15 July) episode will air the tear-jerking scenes that will finally end the weeks of speculation of how the nail technician will depart the cobbles. The scenes were so moving to film that Jack P Shepherd, who plays David, actually cried when reading the scripts for the first time.
He said: "When the cameras stopped filming I couldn't stop crying the tears were very real. The script is superb, every word, every moment of the scene was exactly right.
"They are the most moving scenes I have ever had to film. In rehearsal I just had to speak the lines and not look at anyone as I didn't want to let my emotions take over too soon."
The sneak preview pictures show David running over to Kylie, who is lying in the street, and taking her in his arms. Paula, who has starred on the hit ITV soap since 2000, previously sad that her character's death scene will be a first of its kind in the soap world – it will undoubtedly be worth a watch tonight.
Shepherd also revealed that Kylie's death will trigger the old, out-of-control David to return. He added: "David has to try and keep it together for the sake of the children but he wants to blame someone for what has happened.
"He is angry at the world, he and Kylie were so close to having the perfect life and now he is a single dad and a widower.
"He is lashing out and behaving in a way which really starts to worry his family. There is a lot more drama in the coming months as David struggles to come to terms with losing Kylie," he continued.
Watch these scenes on Friday night's Coronation Street at 7.30pm on ITV.
