Kasey Hacking vanished in her school uniform but carrying a change of clothes metropolitan police

Police in London have issued an urgent appeal for information after an 11-year-old girl disappeared on her way to school in the capital. Kasey Hacking from Greenwich failed to arrive at school on the morning of Wednesday (19 April) and has not been seen or heard from since. Police are increasingly concerned for her welfare.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: "Kasey Hacking failed to arrive at school on Wednesday 19 April after she left her home in Pett Street at around 08:30hrs.

"Kasey is a white girl with light brown long hair and is approximately 5ft 1ins tall. When last seen she was wearing a navy blue blazer and knee length skirt with black leggings. She was also carrying a large black shoulder bag with a change of clothes so may be now wearing a black dress."

Police said Kasey has been known to frequent the Bromley area. She has an Oyster card which means she might be travelling on public transport.

Detectives in Greenwich are "increasingly concerned" for Kasey's welfare. The Met urges anyone with information on Kasey's whereabouts to call police on 101 or Missing People on 116000. They can also tweet the police via: @MetCC.

According to the NCA-run Missing Kids, a child is reported missing every three minutes in the United Kingdom. Missing Kids provides tactical advice and support to UK law enforcement in cases where children go missing or have been abducted, in the UK and abroad, and promotes the use of the Child Rescue Alert system to quickly and safely recover high-risk missing children.

Seventy children are recorded as absent each day in London alone, although most are found safe and well.
