Police hunt man 'who hid spy camera in Starbucks toilet and recorded customers'
Detectives say device was found to contain numerous videos of customers in the toilet.
Police have released a picture of a suspected 'Peeping Tom' believed to have hidden a spy camera above a Starbucks customer toilet in London.
The matchbox-sized camera was found in the ceiling air vent of the single-toilet bathroom at the Starbucks in Vauxhall, opposite the MI6 building.
Police believe the device was in place for up to a month before being spotted by a member of the public in November 2016.
Officers found the camera contained a number of videos of customers using the toilet.
At the time, Starbucks called it a "distressing discovery for our employees and customers".
An image of the suspect was caught by his own spy camera as he installed the device, police said.
Detectives are now appealing for anyone who recognises him to come forward.
The Met Police said in a statement on Wednesday (22 November): "At this stage there is no reason to believe these videos could have been viewed by anybody other than the police, as the device was seized at the location.
"The identity of the male who police believe placed the camera at the location is currently unknown. Detectives have released his image in the hope that someone will be able to identify him.
"No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing."
Anyone who has information on the man pictured is asked to call Brixton CID on 02086492134 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
