Pope Francis visit to Africa: Pontiff's schedule as he visits Kenya, Uganda and CAR
Pope Francis will be making his first visit to Africa over five days, starting on Wednesday, 25 November. His delegation will visit Kenya, Uganda and the Central African Republic.
Here is his schedule. The times listed are GMT with EST in parentheses:
Wednesday, 25 November (Italy, Kenya)
7:45am (1:45am): Departure from Rome's Fiumicino airport.
5pm (9am): Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi, followed by a welcoming ceremony at Kenya's State House.
6pm (10am): Courtesy visit with Kenya's president at the State House.
6:30pm (10:30am): Meeting with Kenyan government officials and members of the diplomatic corps at the State House.
Thursday, 26 November (Kenya)
8:15 am (12:15am): Meeting with inter-religious and ecumenical representatives at the apostolic nunciature in Nairobi.
10am (2am): Mass on the campus of the University of Nairobi.
3:45pm (7:45am) Meeting with priests, religious and seminarians on the sports field of St Mary's School.
5:30pm (9:30am): Visit to the United Nations Office in Nairobi.
Friday, 27 November (Kenya, Uganda)
8:30am (12:30am): Visit to the Kangemi, a slum on the outskirts of Nairobi.
10am (2am): Meeting with youths at Kasarani Stadium.
11:15am (3:15am): Meeting with the bishops of Kenya in the stadium's VIP room.
3:10pm (7:10am): Farewell ceremony at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport.
3:30pm (7:30am): Departure from Nairobi for Entebbe, Uganda.
4:50pm (8:50am): Arrival at Entebbe International Airport.
5:30pm (9:30 am): Courtesy visit with the president of Uganda in the State House in Entebbe.
6pm (10am): Meeting with Ugandan authorities and members of the diplomatic corps in the conference room of the State House.

11am (5am): Courtesy visit with the country's transitional president in the presidential palace.
