Power season 3 premiere date: New trailer hints at Ghost's deadly fate
Starz crime drama Power will get even more exciting as a teaser trailer released by the network for the upcoming season shows James "Ghost" St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick) being hunted by everyone, including his former partner and "brother" Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora).
The trailer opens with someone saying: "Ghost, we need you out in the street," to which he replies: "Forget Ghost. I'm out of the game." Although Ghost wants to get out of the drug business, the path seems to be difficult, as judging by the trailer it seems there is a bounty placed on his head.
As fans know, Tommy's 25-year-old friendship with Ghost ended bitterly in the season 2 finale after he found out that it was Ghost who destroyed his relationship with Holly. The trailer shows Tommy saying: "I am going to put a bullet in his head."
The video also shows that Jamie has rekindled his relationship with Angela (Lela Loren) and the agent has sworn to bring him to justice. With the fate of Kanan (Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson) up in the air and Lobos (Enrique Murciano) still after Ghost, the trailer ends with a chilling tease: "Ghost must die."
Showrunner Courtney Kemp spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming season. She said: "I really want to blow people's minds. I really want to pump more octane in to season 3. More things will happen and there's more stimuli. It's not that you can't have quiet moments but I want people to have this adrenaline-fueled experience at home. We have that in movies all the time, but I want to reach in and make you have a reaction."
The trailer also reveals that Power season 3 will return with fresh episodes in July 2016.
