Prince William and Kate Middleton to marry next year
Clarence House has announced that Prince William will be marrying his long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton in the Spring or Summer of next year.
Prince William, 28, is second in line to the throne and is almost certain to be the monarch of the nation after his father Prince Charles and his grandmother, the current monarch, Elizabeth II.
The couple began their relationship while at St Andrews University eight years ago and became engaged last month in Kenya.
Kate Middleton, also 28, is the daughter of Michael and Carole Middleton, the founders of successful business Party Pieces.
In a statement Clarence House said, "The Prince of Wales is delighted to announce the engagement of Prince William to Miss Catherine Middleton.
"The wedding will take place in the Spring or Summer of 2011, in London. Further details about the wedding day will be announced in due course.
"Prince William has informed The Queen and other close members of his family.
"Prince William has also sought the permission of Miss Middleton's father.
"Following the marriage, the couple will live in north Wales, where Prince William will continue to serve with the Royal Air Force."
