Prison Break trailer and plot: Michael, Lincoln and Sara return in Fox's revival show
Fox has dropped the first trailer and plot details for the Prison Break revival series. The first footage features the return of fan-favourite characters, Sara Tancredi (played by Sarah Wayne Callies) and Lincoln Burrows (played by Dominic Purcell) planning another prison breakout for Michael Scofield (played by Wentworth Miller).
The nine-episode continuation picks up after Michael's apparent death in 2009s series finale. According to the plot, Sara has moved on with her life and is raising her and Michael's son with her new husband (played by Mark Feuerstein).
The trailer opens with Sara's son, Michael Scofield Jr. asking about his father. He says, "What was my father like? My real father!" To which Sara explains, "Michael was like a storm, appearing suddenly out of a clear blue sky and then disappear[ing] just as quickly."
The young boy then questions, "Storm? They can come back, can't they?" Thereby setting the tone for Michael's return.
The promo shows T-Bag telling Lincoln that his brother might just be alive, and showing him a picture of Michael in an overseas prison. Lincoln will team up with Sara and some old faces like Sucre and C-Note to find Michael and plan another high-stakes prison breakout. The trailer ends with a tearful reunion as Michael hugs his brother, Lincoln.
The network shared the plot details for the revival series:
The show will premiere in early 2017 and will air on Thursdays at 9pm EST. The original team including series creator Paul T. Scheuring, Neal Moritz, Marty Adelstein and Dawn Olmstead will return to executive-produce the revival series.
