Priyanka Chopra stuns at the Time 100 Gala, slams Donald Trump's stand on Muslim immigrants
All the way from being a Bollywood actress to securing a place in the Time magazine's annual list of 100 most influential people in the world, Priyanka Chopra has done herself proud.
On Tuesday night, the Quantico star appeared for the TIME100 Gala ceremony in New York donning a crisp white suit with a plunging neckline. However, what seemed to steal the show was the diamond vine adorning the beautiful neckline of her ensemble — almost stealing the attention off the suit. Keeping in line with her tough-cop act, Chopra, 33, wore black heels and kept her hair in a tight bun, which complemented her suited up look well.
Time 100 Gala is an annual event that celebrates the magazine's list of world's most influential people. In its 2016 edition held at Frederick P Rose Hall in New York, the annual gala honoured popular Hollywood names and famous figures worldwide. Former Miss World Priyanka Chopra, who made it to the coveted list, shared the honour with the likes of Oscar-winning actor Leonardo DiCaprio, Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, and 2016 US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
Chopra rose to fame with her portrayal of FBI agent Alex Parrish in the ABC show Quantico, where she's seen in action, solving mysteries and fighting an unknown terrorist. Her big Hollywood project Baywatch is currently in the making, where she stars alongside Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
While her sultry look in the show and on the red carpet has kept her in the limelight, she is not an actress who is known only for her physical appearance. Known for essaying female-centric characters, the Hollywood newcomer took a stand against extremism — a frequent topic in the US presidential election — during the Time's gala.
She slammed 2016 GOP candidate and fellow Time awardee Donald Trump for calling for a ban on Muslim immigrants in the US. "I just think you can't put a ban on anyone. Generalising a type of people is really primitive," the actress retorted.
