Professor Green and the 'missing' Rolex

Rapper Professor Green has been held on suspicion of trying to pervert the course of justice after reporting he was mugged near his south London home.

Police were called at around 3:00am on Sunday 3 November after a report that a man had been robbed of his Rolex watch outside his £1million home.

But when police arrived at the scene they discovered a Mercedes had been in a crash with a van and arrested the rapper on suspicion of drink-driving.

It is thought the latest arrest is related to circumstances surrounding the reported robbery.

Police said: "A 29-year-old was arrested for attempting to pervert the course of justice after reporting for bail.

"He is bailed to a date in January pending further inquiries."

Green - who has just turned 30 - later tweeted: ''It's been a strange couple a weeks. Growing old doesn't equal growing up, not even when you want it to!''
