Qarabag vs Tottenham Hotspur, Europa League 2015/16: Where to watch live, preview, betting odds and possible XI
Qarabag FK host Tottenham Hotspur in the fifth group game of the Europa League as Spurs look to seal their place in the knockout stages of the tournament. The north London club have been in brilliant form in the Premier League and need to showcase their talent in Europe to progress further in the competition, which is still their best route to qualify into the Champions League next season.
Where to Watch Live
Kick-off is set for 6pm GMT. Live coverage of the game will be on BT Sport Europe and BT Sport Europe HD.
Overview
Qarabag are still harbouring hopes of qualifying through to the next round of the competition, which will all be vanquished if they fail to get the better of Spurs on Match Day five. The Azerbaijan-based club are doing well in their local league, having won the same in the last two years while striving to repeat their accomplishments in the ensuing campaign.
Qarabag have failed thus far to transfer their form at home to Europe, where they have fallen short of moving into the group stages of the Champions League. However, they have secured qualification into the Europa at the expense of Young Boys, beating them 4-0 in aggregate over two legs. They have done well in the competition thus far, losing to Tottenham and Monaco, but beating Anderlecht and also drawing with the French giants in the previous five games.
Meanwhile, Tottenham come into the game having beaten West Ham 4-1 in the league, which has taken them to within two points of a top four spot. Arsenal and Manchester City's loss in form has opened up the league for teams like Liverpool and Tottenham to take advantage of and Mauricio Pochettino's men are roaring to get back into Europe for the first time since 2011 when they achieved the feat under Harry Redknapp.
What Manager Say
Mauricio Pochettino: "To be fair, you need to compete in every competition with the same conditions as the opponent. I am not complaining. I only want to translate our feeling. I only want to bring attention to the conditions, that it's not fair to have two days less recovery than the opponent. My question is: why not be attentive and careful to try to help the team who needs to compete in Europe? Why not play on the Monday, or 4pm on Sunday, instead of 12pm? It's not much of a gap but in four hours you can rest a little bit more, you can sleep and recover after the long flight."
