Internazionali BNL d'Italia, also known as the Italian Open has been won by either Nadal or Djokovic since 2005. The streak will continue for yet another year as the two have made it to the Rome final on Sunday.
The World No 1 has won the tournament seven out of the last nine times, with the remaining two going in Djokovic's favour. Nadal will be looking for his eighth win and his third consecutive final victory in Rome on Sunday, while the Serbian will be keen to add one more trophy to his list.
Nadal sealed a place in the Internazionali BNL d'Italia final by defeating Grigor Dimitrov in straight sets 6-2, 6-2. The Spaniard did not face any difficulty in registering a win over the Bulgarian in the semi-final on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Djokovic made it to Sunday's final by sealing a victory over Milos Raonic in the last four of the tournament. The game ended in a three-set thriller with the first two sets being decided on a tiebreaker.
Raonic won the first set and was close to winning the second set, only for Djokovic to win it in the end. That gave him the much needed boost as he wasted no time to seal the third set and the match. The World No 2 won the match 6-7, 7-6, 6-3.
