Overview
Rafael Nadal will look to continue his dominant form on the clay court when he opens his Madrid Masters campaign against Russian Andrey Kuznetsov on Tuesday.
The Spaniard has previously won the title in Madrid thrice and has admitted that the altitude conditions in Madrid and the faster clay courts do not suit him as well as the slower courts in other locations, but considering his form he is still the favourite to win the event.
His opponent Andrey Kuznetsov comes into this game after beating Victor Troicki 6-4, 6-4 in the first round and entered the event at a career-high ranking of 39. He has had a good 2016 season so far, climbing 40 places in the rankings.
