Fresh from winning his ninth Monte Carlo Masters title, Nadal looked at his imperious best with his victory over Gael Monfils in the final, helping him secure the first Masters title in two years. The former World No 1 has never lost a set to fellow Spaniard Granollers and will look to continue his good form.
World No 50 Granollers too enjoyed a fine run at the recently concluded Monte Carlo Masters Open, falling just two rounds short of reaching the final. He comes into this clash on the back of an easy 6-4, 6-3 win over Daniel Munoz de la Nava in a game in which he served 10 aces.
