Overview
Nadal will be aiming to win his second consecutive title of the season when he takes on Kohlschreiber. The Spaniard beat Fabio Fognini 6-2, 7-6 in the quarter-final holding off a second set revival from the Italian.
The former world number one, who is looking close to his best form, took one hour 50 minutes to close the game, in what was his 46th win at the Barcelona ATP World Tour 500 clay-court tournament. Nadal has won the Barcelona title eight times and is the favourite to clinch for the ninth time.
His opponent, world number 27 Kohlschreiber, has had a great week in Barcelona so far and comes into this game on the back of some impressive performances, beating Russian Andrey Kuznetsov 6-3, 6-1 in the quarter-finals.
The German has in the past pushed out top players but falls short of actually winning the tie. While he is dangerous and could give Nadal a run for his money, he is not expected to shock the Spaniard and will come into this tie as the underdog.
