Real Madrid Ready to Fight United for South American Midfield Star
Manchester United target Arturo Vidal is also on the radar of Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti, according to reports in Spain.
The Juventus midfielder was targeted by Real Madrid boss last summer but a number of factors prevented Los Blancos from concluding the deal.
Vidal's prohibitive price tag, the signing of Asier Illarramendi, the preliminary agreement made with Borussia Dortmund to sign Ilkay Gundogan and the expensive purchase of Gareth Bale all contributed to Ancelotti missing out on the Chilean during the summer transfer window.
However, sources close to the Bernabeu suggest the Italian coach will make a renowned bid during the coming close season.
Vidal, 26, has played a key role in the Juventus squad since his arrival from Bayer Leverkusen in 2011 and has become one of the most highly regarded midfielders in the world. He has scored 11 goals in his 23 league appearances for the Serie A champions thus far this season.
Although he has just renewed his contract until 2017, Vidal has been attracting interest from all over Europe.
United boss David Moyes is a known admirer of the Chilean international, and wants to add him to his squad to help improve on the disastrous results United have suffered this season.
