Rihanna New York Fashion Week show: Singer to make 2016 debut with new Puma collection
She is often seen sitting front row but Rihanna will be a lot closer to the runway at the next New York Fashion Week. The Diamonds singer is set to unveil her first collection with Puma in the upcoming 2016 showcase and she is giving her lucky fans the chance to attend her big day.
The 27-year-old, who was appointed the new creative director of the sportswear brand in December 2014, will unveil her collection on 12 February 2016. The FourFiveSeconds hit maker is auctioning one pair of front-row seat tickets with the proceeds going towards her Clara Lionel Foundation charity. The advert on the foundation's website states: "For a chance to see one of Rihanna's many creative collaborations up-close, you and one guest will be flown business class to New York for two nights to experience the premier Puma by Rihanna AW16 fashion show."
The winner of the exclusive package will be treated like a celebrity, enjoy a pre-show styling session, backstage access after the runway show and an invitation to the after-party and the gifting suite. The guests will also receive one piece of each style from the Puma collection, a framed piece of art autographed by Rihanna and a pair of signed Creepers in each colour from the AW15 collection.
The starting bid for the tickets have so far reached $15,000 (£9958) and closes on 10 December at 3pm EST (8pm GMT). Rihanna's range with Puma hit the ground running and became the brand's highest-performing collection in the last quarter. The Grammy winner founded the Clara Lionel Foundation in 2012 in honour of her grandparents Clara and Lionel Braithwaite. The charity has launched various programs to help fund the health, education art and culture sectors.
In addition to her fashion projects, RiRi is also juggling her eighth studio album Anti, which is becoming increasingly elusive. It was believed the LP would be streamed for free on Tidal in November 2015 before its official release on 4 December but it was a no-show on both occasions. The singer is said to be putting the finishing touches to the record but a release date is yet to be announced.
