As millions tune in to watch the sequin-clad samba dancers at Rio de Janeiro's Carnival parade, celebrities have also flocked in, to be part of the world's biggest party.
This year, beer company Brahma roped in American actress Megan Fox to promote the brand. The 26-year-old star who was accompanied by her husband Brian Austin Green was also spotted visiting a local samba school in Sao Paulo. Meanwhile, TV reality show star Kim Kardashian and boyfriend rapper Kanye West, and actor Will Smith were also seen enjoying the parades. South Korean rapper Psy, of Gangnam Style fame, had also performed In the northeastern city of Salvador alongside Brazilian stars Claudia Leitte, Gilberto Gil and Daniela Mercury.
The numbers of A-list celebrities in attendance has grown in past years as Brazil has risen - particularly since the country was chosen to host the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 summer Olympics.
Previously, celebrities including Jennifer Lopez, Fergie, Madonna, Beyoncé, Jude Law, Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson and Kevin Spacey were part of the big event.
