Overview
Roger Federer continued his quest for a record eighth Wimbledon Championship title as he cruised past Marcus Willis 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 in the second round on 29 June. The number three seed was by no means perfect, but his serve was coming down big, and his game was tactical and precise.
The seven-time champion hit 37 winners to 14 unforced errors and is the definite favourite on the grass courts of SW19 with the crowds cheering him on at every moment. The Swiss maestro has hit form at the right moment, which makes him a very dangerous opponent.
Ranked number 91 in the world, Daniel Evans has not made the most of his talent and is considered an underachiever of British tennis. He comes into this clash after shocking Alexandr Dolgopolov in the second round, beating him 7-6(6), 6-4, 6-1.
Evans hit 39 winners to just 14 unforced errors and although he does not stand a chance against Federer who is hitting peak form, he is capable of causing an upset.
